Dedicated, motivated and ambitious, Chef Harald is a key driving force establishing the hospitality department of the DWTC as a leading F&B operation in the UAE. With his outstanding contribution, DWTC hospitality has surpassed its targets for seven consecutive years, operational costs decreased within the same period and numerous culinary accolades that the team has garnered over the years. Whether it’s international mega-exhibitions, royal weddings, global music concerts, delegate conventions or CHAINE Des Rotisseurs dinners, the sophistication and excitement of Dubai comes to life at DWTC. Chef Harald manages a professional team and heads the project planning for new facilities including the Dubai EXPO 2020 developments, the expansion of hospitality restaurants and the development of food concepts and menus for new outlets. DWTC kitchens, under the leadership of Harald Oberender, has been recommended by the Dubai Municipality as a model benchmark for new establishments.

Harald Oberender is a renowned hospitality personality in the global culinary community having travelled and worked extensively in many countries such as Germany, UK, South Africa, Bermuda, Ethiopia, the US and the UAE in the span of his very rewarding career. Chef Harald studied at the Hotel School in Kassel, Germany. He previously worked at Hilton Hotels and also won the Middle East Caterer of the Year 2011 Award.

DWTC launched a special edition book entitled ‘A Culinary Journey: Celebrating 30 Years of Our History’ concurring with the celebration of its 30th anniversary. The cookbook publishes original Emirati recipes perfected by the award-winning DWTC hospitality team, under Chef Harald’s guidance. In Chef Haralds’ words ‘The teams’ passion for food is reflected in each of these recipes. It's a collection that marks culinary excellence, an inherent value we strive to uphold year after year.’

Chef Harald and his team also jump-start the mornings of millions of people across the region with the SAMA DUBAI television show. The show was a runaway hit and proved to be a kaleidoscope of a multitude of dishes from around the world.
