Originating from the sunshine state in Australia, Michael has been a roaming restauranteur for over three decades, working internationally in 15 countries across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa.

He’s extremely passionate about developing high performance hospitality teams and focuses his efforts on reinforcing team culture and helping his team grow and become better together.

Starting his career as a management trainee with Hyatt International, Michael has opened and operated a dozen hotel F&B operations and has held regional roles with five-star hotel groups. He has also dabbled in airline catering, ran one of Australia’s largest catering and convention venues and for close to a decade, ran and redeveloped one of Asia’s premier private membership clubs.

During his tenures with regional retail giants Alshaya and Al Futtaim, Michael operated and expanded some of the MEA’s busiest F&B and retail franchises.

Most recently Michael has turned his focus to helping dynamic, creative restaurant entrepreneurs to make their brands scalable, helping them double the size of their operations and expand internationally.

He’s currently the Chief Operating Officer with Tashas Group, overseeing their operations and growth in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Tashas currently have 25 outlets with close to a dozen more now set to open in the next 18 months. In the UAE their brands include tashas, Flamingo Room, Avli and Galaxy Bar.
